LET’S GIVE CHILDREN A CHANCE helps specific children and young adults growing up in children’s home in the Czech Republic since 2011. We focus especially on helping older children and young adults, whom we help before and while leaving the institution. We seek supporters to save money for these children for an easier start of an independent life, we fulfil so-called justified wishes (related to their studies, hobbies or health care) and we support them throughout their studies. We also enable children to establish personal contact with individuals or families in the form of host care. After leaving the children’s home, we help young people with finding a suitable job and accommodation and we provide them with starting packs filled with basic household equipment.

We do not draw any funds from government subsidies and ESF. Our priority is not to be dependent on grants, not having to adapt out thought-through projects to them and be able to adapt our projects to current needs of the young people we support. Since the beginning funding of our organisation relies on the support of individuals, corporate donors and charitable foundations.

Operational costs are also partially covered by self-financing. This includes selling promotional items (such as advent calendars and New Year’s cards) and organising various events. Besides the financial benefit it is also a great opportunity to present our activities and find new supporters.
